Penetration testing, also called pen testing, is a cyberattack simulation launched on your organization’s computer system. The simulation uncovers points of exploitation and tests IT breach security. Our seamless, three-step process below provides a clear roadmap to a fully connected campus.
Step 1 - Survey
Option 1: Predictive – Wireless Survey
For a predictive survey, our wireless engineer does not come onsite. Instead, campus floor plans and simulation tools are used to create a model of the radio frequency (RF) environment at your community to identify appropriate access point (AP) placement with recommended channel plan and power levels for APs. A predictive wireless site survey is cost and time-effective, and accurate. A community will achieve the best results from this kind of assessment if accurate and to-scale building blueprints or floor plans are provided.
Option 2: Onsite - Wireless Survey
The onsite wireless survey option includes an onsite visit from our engineer to conduct a manual inspection of your community’s wireless hardware. Walking your campus, the engineer notes the mounting location, orientation, and proximity to columns/walls of the access points, recording any that seem to conflict with industry best practices. An assessment is conducted of wireless signal strength and the location of each wireless access point. Radio frequency interference and noise level checks are all included. Using this data, we optimize your wireless deployment plan to maximize the performance of your wireless network.
Step 2 - Design
On completion of the survey, we will design a wireless solution for your campus. Your design includes heat maps and optimal placement of access points with a recommended channel plan and power levels for the APs as well as a cost analysis.
The cost analysis will include:
- Projected wireless access point costs
- Projected network switch ports and hardware necessary to support additional access points
- Cabling costs
